In 2015 United Nations decided to draft a global AGENDA 2030 charting the world`s path towards combating poverty and exclusion. The GLOBAL AMBASSADORS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS will be the key actors toward this outcome.

On the occasion of the official ceremonies for 2018 WORLD TOURISM DAY Professor Dr. Anton Caragea has made the long-awaited announcement:  The Global Ambassadors for Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals programme will make new appointments during 2019.

 

The 2018 WORLD TOURISM DAY ceremonies have taken place in the presence of President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and having in observance members of European Council on Tourism (ECTT) and Trade, European Tourism Academy, diplomatic corps accredited to ECTT and members of PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG`s).

 

As a result of the demands coming from leaders, statesman`s and peerless world personalities involved in the carving of new development strategies and in implementing United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda we have taken the decision to further implement the program and to entrust the European Council on Tourism and Trade and  PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS SDG`s to continue the implementation of the program in the years to come until 2030.

 

President Anton Caragea announced today the appointment of a group of eminent persons to assist in the campaign to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

„The Sustainable Development Goals are both ambitious and necessary for our common future. Together the world leaders will strengthen the overall effort to achieve the sustainability goals. „, says Academician Mircea Constantinescu.

 

„The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are our shared vision of humanity and a social contract between the world’s leaders and the people,” said European Council on Tourism and Trade Chairman Mihai Prundianu.

 

The 17 SDGs aim to end poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while leaving no one behind.

 

The SDG Ambassadors of PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS will have the task of promoting the universal sustainable development agenda, raising awareness of the integrated nature of the SDGs, and fostering the engagement of new stakeholders in the implementation of the SDGs.

 

The diverse group of Ambassadors will engage with partners from civil society, academia, parliaments, and the private sector to develop new and ground-breaking ideas and ways to promote SDG implementation.
